This exhibition has been organized and curated by artist and current MFA in Studio Art candidate Craig Hanson. Untitled (abstraction) features a selection of artist’s from the University of South Florida Studio Art MFA program whose work utilizes an abstract visual language to discuss the ideas in their work. Each artist’s work discusses a different idea toward individual concerns in contemporary art through the use of specific materials and distinct processes but employs visually similar techniques. Works by artists, Jennifer Miller, Victoria Trespando, Elizabeth Schnider, Walter Mathews, and Matthew Drennen Wicks will be on display. This is an opportunity for visitors to experience a top flight of USF’s artists, who have been creating the most visually compelling work. The exhibition will display both wall-mounted two-dimensional and three-dimensional work as well as sculptures in the round.
